ANNOUNCING: Soaring Eagles Fundraiser is here!

Dear CHMS Families, 

We are excited to announce the kickoff to CHMS' annual PTO fundraiser starting October 1st, the Soaring Eagles Fundraiser (formerly known as the Fall Fundraiser)! 

The CHMS PTO relies entirely on the generous donations from our Eagle families and sponsors to fund its annual budget. The PTO dues you’ve already paid cover about 25% of our yearly expenses. Each October, we launch a month-long campaign to bridge the gap, allowing us to continue supporting and enhancing your student’s learning experience throughout the 2024-2025 school year.

Did you know that about half of our annual budget goes directly to supporting teachers and enriching their classrooms? Here are just a few examples:

  • CHMS Cares - hands on student volunteer annual initiative
  • The creation of our Living Classroom, purchased over two years, which earned CHMS a prestigious Green Ribbon Award
  • Flexible classroom furniture that has been a huge hit with students
  • New bike racks, requested by both students and staff
  • School-wide speakers
  • Supplies for Pep Rallies
  • Chromebook chargers for classrooms
  • Lumber for set construction for school musicals

CHMS is a wonderful place, thanks to the dedication of our staff who provide a supportive and enriching learning environment for our students. With your help, we can continue the tradition of excellence and enhancement that the CHMS PTO is proud to provide.

We deeply appreciate your continued support and look forward to making this year’s fundraiser a success!

 

What makes this fundraiser unique (and a favorite among parents) is that we don’t ask you to do anything besides click a link and donate. Yes! It’s that easy. No selling products, no attending events, no soliciting on our behalf. We love simple asks!

  • One slice of pizza and one cookie are $7.
  • Two slices of pizza and one cookie are $9.
  • Gluten free pizza and a district approved gluten free dessert are $14. (Note: Students who order gluten free pizza can choose Italian Ice cups, Banjo Bar or Orange Blossom Bar.)

8th Grade Parents, please help stock the three CHMS Staff Lounges with drinks and snacks. The PTO coordinates this effort with donations from each grade level throughout the school year. 

Drop off items on Friday, September 27 between 8:00am-8:30am.

Item drop off details: Please drop off at the tables OUTSIDE of the school office. Please do NOT ship items to school or drop off late items. We cannot accept late donations. The team assembles the items and stocks the lounges immediately after drop off that morning. If you cannot drop off during this time, please email staffappreciation@chmspto.org and we can coordinate an alternate drop off before the event. 

Please make sure your donated items do NOT contain nuts.

Join the Rotary Run Charity Classic - October, 6th

CHMS would love to see your students and families show our Eagle Spirit at The 2024 Rotary Run Charity Classic on Sunday, October 6th, 2024.

Whether you're an avid runner, run as a hobby, or aren't a runner whatsoever there is a run (3K, 5K, 10K) or walk (3K, 5K) for you, friends, and family (pets included)!

We are looking for a student to run the mascot race wearing our Eagle Mascot costume. Please contact the PTO if your child is interested!

All proceeds of the race goes to charity including our very own The Community House, District 181 Foundation, Hinsdale Hospital Foundation, Hanson Center/Ray Graham Association, and Rotary Club of Hinsdale Foundation.

Homework Help at the Hinsdale Public Library

The Hinsdale Public Library is offering homework and study help every Tuesday and Thursday, 4:00pm - 5:00pm for students in grades K - 8.

Drop-ins are welcome!

The Homework Helper program is run by high school students and is a great way for your students to receive help with their homework. See link for more details.
